Privacy Policy
MIRAVINA ("this site") sets out this privacy policy to handle your personal information properly.
Information we collect
- Information you enter in the contact form (your name, email address and message)
- Information our servers record automatically when you view the site (access logs such as IP address, browser type, date and time, and pages viewed)
How we handle contact messages
Messages sent through the contact form reach the operator as email. They are not stored in this site's database. We use an email delivery service to send them, and we temporarily use the sender's IP address to prevent large numbers of messages in a short time.
Why we use this information
- To reply to and contact you about your inquiries
- To prevent unauthorized access and abuse, and to run the site safely
- To improve the site (in a form that does not identify individuals)
Sharing with third parties
We do not give personal information to third parties without your consent, except where the law requires it. We may entrust work such as site hosting and sending email to outside companies, as far as needed for the purposes above. In that case, we supervise them appropriately.
Cookies and data sent to outside services
Site analytics
To understand how the site is used and improve it, we use Vercel Web Analytics, provided by Vercel Inc. (USA). This service does not use cookies. Visitors are distinguished by a temporary code made from access information, which is discarded after 24 hours. No personally identifying information, such as your name or email address, is sent.
The data sent is the URL of the page viewed, the referring page, your approximate region, your device, OS and browser type, and the date and time. We remove parameters such as search keywords from URLs before sending. When someone clicks a link to an outside site, such as a shop, booking site or official site, we also send which item or place and which shop or site the link is for, to improve what we feature. We use this data only as statistics that do not identify individuals.
Vercel Web Analytics privacy information
Favorites
We count how many times the favorite button is pressed, per article and per day, for the popular article ranking. No sign-up or login is needed, and we do not record who pressed it.
To prevent mass submissions meant to manipulate the ranking, we temporarily use the sender's IP address after converting it into an irreversible form (a hash). This value is deleted automatically within 1 hour at most, and the IP address itself is not stored. The counts are stored in a database service provided by Upstash, Inc. (USA), and daily counts are deleted automatically after about 100 days.
View counts
To decide the order of themes on the home page and of rankings, we count how many times article, theme and product pages are viewed, per page and per day. No sign-up or login is needed, and we do not record who viewed which page. We store only the view count for each page.
So that repeat views by the same person in a short time are not all counted, we temporarily use the sender's IP address after converting it into a hash. This value is deleted automatically after 6 hours, and the IP address itself is not stored. Views from automated programs, such as search engine crawlers, are not counted. The counts are stored in the same Upstash, Inc. (USA) database service, and daily counts are deleted automatically after about 100 days.
Searches with no results
To help decide what to add, we count search terms that returned no results in site search, product search and restaurant search, per term and per day. We do not record who searched. Terms that seem to contain personal information, such as email addresses, phone numbers and URLs, are not recorded. To avoid counting the same person repeatedly, we use the same method as for view counts (an irreversible hash, deleted automatically after 6 hours). The counts are stored in the Upstash, Inc. (USA) database service, and daily counts are deleted automatically after about 100 days.
Data stored on your device
If you close the "Add to Home Screen" prompt, we store the date and time in your browser (local storage) so the prompt stays hidden for the next 30 days. We also store there that the scroll hint for the category menu has been shown. Places, restaurants and events you save to My Trip are stored in your browser too (if you press the button to save or share by link, the saved content is included in the link's URL). This data is not sent to this site's servers, and you can delete it in your browser settings.
Advertising
This site does not currently use ad delivery tools. If we introduce them, we will update this policy.
When you follow a link from this site to an outside site, such as a shop or booking site, that site may use cookies and similar technology. Please check each site's privacy policy for how it handles your information.
Security
We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent unauthorized access to, and loss or leakage of, personal information.
Requests to disclose, correct or delete
If you ask us to disclose, correct or delete your personal information, we will confirm your identity and respond as the law requires. Please contact us through the contact form (in Japanese).

We may revise this policy when laws or our services change. Revised content takes effect when it is posted on this page.
